The best one so far, I'm definitely gonna figure out how to top this next year so watch out!

[Even more flowers are sprouting in his hair as he kisses back, though what Varian says makes him pause.]

Next year? [That's so far away, and that raises the question of whether both of them will even be here in one year....

But thanks to the whole peach thing, he doesn't feel that homesick. In fact, it sounds kind of nice, already planning for next year's holiday(s).]

That... that'd be cool. Doing even more for both days next year.

[The lack of homesickness has been on Varian's mind for a while- that added with the fact he's found he can only go so far away from the town and what he's learning in Zodiac...well. It's painted a worrying picture. He's been too busy with Zodiac to properly look at it- for now, he'll work on the assumption they'll be here next year and the rest...well. He'll get to the rest later.

He smiles, picking one of Fern's (nontoxic) flowers to put behind his own ear.]

Right? We'll just make it even BETTER.

[This should be a worrying concern, the idea of being stuck here and never going home (or to Varian's world, given the offer that the other boy presented before the peach explosion), but Fern is quite okay to focus on the positive aspects instead. Namely, that he has someone who wants to be around him for another whole year, enough to plan to celebrate the holidays a second time with him.]

Oh yeah, one hundred times better! No one's gonna celebrate these holidays better than us.

[Varian might not be the biggest fan of the mental vault, but this is something he feels needs to be Not Dealt With yet. ]

We're gonna be pros. [He presses a kiss to Fern's cheek, because he wants to and he CAN.] Now, c'mon- your coffee will be brewed.

[Fern's cheeks darken, and he nods.]

Okay, okay. Cookies and coffee sounds great.

[Well, Varian can eat the cookies and he'll absorb the coffee through his roots.]
